The FreeStyle Libre 2 plus is a 15-day Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) that integrates with Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump and Omnipod 5 System. The Libre 2 plus provides CGM readings every 1 minute and does not exhibit vitamin C interaction.

  • Measures glucose accurately every minute. 40-400mg/dL range2.
  • FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor connects via Bluetooth to the Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump. The t:slim X2 insulin pump and the t:connect mobile app visualize glucose data every minute.
  • FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor connects with the Omnipod 5 System.

It has been cleared by the FDA to be worn during radiologic studies including X-ray imaging, computed tomography, and MRI.

  • There is no waiting period after a CT-scan or X-ray to be able to safely use the Libre system sensor.
  • It is best to wait 1 hour following MRI exposure to ensure the FreeStyle Libre sensor. Freestyle Libre Sensor system is functioning normally following MRI exposure, depending on the type of MRI procedure used. After one hour, there is no compromise in accuracy or functionality of the device.

  • Fluoroscopy will have no impact on the sensor performance.
  • There are no contraindications, warnings and limitations regarding use with ultrasound procedures.
  • The contraindication related to diathermy therapy remains unchanged.
  • FreeStyle Libre Systems have not been studied with PET scan procedures; therefore, Abbott is unable to attest to the accuracy or performance of the Systems under such use case conditions.
  • In the examination room, the user must leave his or her phone and reader outside.

Transmitter Range: Sensor transmission range – 20 feet unobstructed. Sensor and reader must be within 1.5 inches of each other to scan.
Continuous Data Transmission: Patients can open the App to see real time glucose reading. The App will automatically update every minute. Patients can still scan their Sensor whenever they need, for example, to fill in up to 8 hours of missing data or to get a glucose reading during signal loss. Patients using the FreeStyle Libre 2 readers will need to scan their Sensor to receive a real time glucose reading.
